From the drivers seat

Well lets see, when you drive a ford the other teams look at you a little sideways for openers., thats one of the things that I like about it. I have driven fords for most of my life, my mom drove fords my dad drove fords, my grandfather would say it's a rattling good ford,my friends would say, Found On the Road Dead, still other friends wound say Fix Or Repair Daily. I say anyone can race a chevy as they come from the factory race ready,an they are fast so when a sixty five year old man can beat a bunch of eighteen to forty year old guys[there are an average of sixteen cars every race nite] driving chevies, the answer jim is it was a big YES!!!.
We went out in the heat race with me starting in the third row back in a eight car field, it was the usuel every one trying to get to the front on the first lap I laid back let them scramble with each other when they had to back off so as not to crash, I already had the gas on an they slowed an here i go right thru the middle of them, well i said to myself peace of cake, lead all the laps except the last one, went into the forth turn to hard,pushed up let a fast CHEVY get under me, it was a drag race to the flag he beat me by less than four inches, but a win is a win.
Went out in the feature stared in seventh place in a seventeen car field,same thing everyone trying to win on the first lap i thought i was in a wreck right off but i turned to where the wreck was starting an wnen i got there they were gone, that was the turning point of the race for me as i went thru the hole again caught the third place car put pressure on him, he pushed up, got under him went after the leader caught him on the forth lap ,passed him on the next lap, told myself alright, you should get a top five finish tonite if you don't screw up so i tried to drive easy, waiting for two or three of the big motor fast CHEVYS to come by. HUH I was told after the race that sometimes i had a four car lead on the rest of the field, came acrosas the start finish line with a big grin an a big YES!!. After i took a victory lap i pulled into the winners circle, got out of the car to cheers from the stands, gave the crowd a big wave, then i beat on the hood off my ford an hollered to the fans that i love my ford, the responce was ausome they loved it [so did i ]. later in the pits people that i did not know came up to me an congratuled me as well as the track officals, thats why i like to race a ford.

Life as grandpa racecar

Well we went to see the big foot prints and enjoy my grandkids which was fun as always. Well lets see, my grandson thought that he could take off on his bike whenever the mood struck him, wrong, grounded! OK got that worked out , no you can not play with the campfire( confused look)! got that worked out. Lets go swimming, grandma said its too deep over there come over here,ya right. how deep is it I don't know well go down an see, OK, wow it's deep. Boy grandma is smart, no nobody said that.
Well grandpa an grandma went for a walk with cheryl, look down at the river an cheryl (the blind one) says HOLY SHIT LOOK AT THAT SNAKE!!. ya right cheryl i look an said thats a fish, no dad over there,HOLY SHIT LOOK AT THAT SNAKE!! So back to the camp we go with our snake story. I am shur by now the snake has grown a few more feet, the last i heard it was as big as aunt cheryl only bigger. Oh ya when all the kid were walking down by the footprints there were about twenty or more people doing the same thing across the river where my cherbs were when one of my kids says SNAKE!! yup they all beat feet.

OK racing, got second in the heat race, kept trying to get the lead but it was not firing on all cylnders coming out of the turn, got that fixed went out in the feature started fourth row inside( yes fourth row billy) passed a few cars going to the front when it started braking down bad, ended up eighth, took it apart this morning found trash in the carburator, humm bad gas?? We won't go there!
Thats about it for now the great out doors is calling me.
